Common Ailments of the Nervous System

The ailments of the nervous system are mostly serious and could result to paralysis or behavioral disturbances.

The nervous system acts as the coordinator to the different systems in the body. Just like any other system in the body, the nervous system has different disorders most of which are very serious.

Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy is a disorder caused by damage to the brain resulting to a lack of balance and usually impaired speech. This disorder is often associated with other mental problems.

Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is a disease of the nervous system where the myelin sheaths covering the axons of the neurons in the brain and spinal cord are damaged. The symptoms include slurred speech, weakness of the muscles and shaky movements of the limbs.

Encephalitis

Encephalitis is caused by a virus attacking the brain. This results in the inflammation of the brain. If this happens the person affected will have headache and fever.
